Plant Panic is a frantic first-person game set in a small but comfy, lo-fi aesthetic, New-York apartment. The player, a struggling student living alone, has their rent raised out of nowhere, and can no longer pay their rent due at the end of the day. To raise enough money and avoid eviction, they become an upstart botanist, accepting orders to grow plants for people, charging a small fee for each and reimbursing the customer for plants that die in their care.

Equipped with only their personal hobby supplies, the player has just a simple watering can, a single plant holder, and a tiny window to provide their budding seedlings with enough light to flourish and generate income. As their reputation grows customers begin demanding more lucrative yet temperamental plants, such as cactuses which demand a constant spotlight, peace lilies accustomed to the drenched rainforest.
